Economic Summit returns to Abbotsford on May 21, convening business and government leaders from across the region.

(FRASER VALLEY) February 12th, 2026 - Representing thousands of businesses across the Fraser Valley, the Fraser Valley Business Coalition (FVBC) is advancing a unified, solutions-driven voice for one of British Columbia’s fastest-growing economic regions with the return of the Fraser Valley Economic Summit on Thursday, May 21 in Abbotsford. The summit will be presented by the Royal Bank of Canada.
Formed by the Chambers of Commerce in Langley, Abbotsford, and Mission, the Coalition works to align regional leadership, elevate shared priorities, and help deliver the infrastructure, workforce, and investment needed to drive economic growth for British Columbia and Canada. The Fraser Valley Economic Summit is the Coalition’s flagship convening, designed to move beyond conversation and toward coordinated action.
"The Fraser Valley is at a pivotal moment," said Alex Mitchell, Chair of the Fraser Valley Business Coalition and CEO of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. "Our region is growing rapidly, and the decisions we make today will shape the economic future of British Columbia and Canada. The Fraser Valley Economic Summit is about bringing together business, government, and community leaders to align on priorities, accelerate investment, and ensure this region remains a driver of growth and opportunity. After the success of the inaugural summit, we are back bigger, bolder, and ready to deliver results for our communities and the province."
The 2026 summit will bring together senior business leaders, elected officials, Indigenous leadership, and post-secondary institutions to focus on the Fraser Valley’s role as a primary growth engine for the provincial and national economy, at a time when productivity, housing supply, and trade competitiveness are top of mind across Canada.
"The Fraser Valley Business Coalition demonstrates the power of collaboration," said Corey Redekop, CEO of the Langley Chamber of Commerce. "By uniting our business communities across Langley, Abbotsford, and Mission, we are able to bring a coordinated, solutions-focused voice to the table. The Economic Summit is an opportunity to showcase how regional leadership can tackle challenges, advance infrastructure, and create meaningful economic opportunities that benefit all of British Columbia."
The Coalition’s leadership role was clearly demonstrated through the inaugural Fraser Valley Economic Summit in 2024, which brought together Premier David Eby, mayors from across the Fraser Valley, and a cross-section of leading CEOs, economists, and innovators. That event established the summit as a credible, non-partisan forum for regional alignment and helped set a new standard for collaboration between business and government in the Fraser Valley.
"Mission and the Fraser Valley are well-positioned for growth, but realizing that potential requires alignment and action," said Miriam Bozman, Executive Director of the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce. "The Economic Summit provides a platform for business leaders, elected officials, and innovators to come together, share ideas, and set a clear path forward. We’re proud to be part of a Coalition that is driving practical solutions for the region’s economy and communities."
“RBC is proud to be the presenting partner of the Fraser Valley Economic Summit and to support the business community driving growth and opportunity across the region” Martin Thibodeau, Regional President, Royal Bank of Canada
Building on that momentum, the 2026 Fraser Valley Economic Summit returns with an expanded, action-oriented program, reinforcing the Fraser Valley’s position as a region ready to deliver results for British Columbia and Canada.
