Board Statement on Executive Director Temporary Leave of Absence for Federal Election

The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce Board is pleased to announce that Executive Director, Katerina Anastasiadis has been declared the Conservative Candidate for the Coquitlam – Port Coquitlam Electoral District in the upcoming federal election. The Board supports the democratic process and those seeking to hold public service to serve citizens and the community. The Chamber is committed to transparency and non-partisanship, and we maintain our commitment to our members and the community in this regard.

Katerina will continue to fulfill her daily duties as Executive Director of the Chamber until the official election period begins. At that time, she will take a temporary leave until the conclusion of the election. Plans are in place to manage and ensure proper oversight of the organization. The Board will continue to ensure strong leadership is in place. The Board President (or a Board designate) will be the official spokesperson on external communications and advocacy effective immediately and during this time of leave.

The Chamber will be hosting its All Candidates Debates for the anticipated federal election. The debates with questions and candidate responses will be covered by local media at the in-person event. Details on the event are forthcoming and will be posted on the Chamber website: www.abbotsfordchamber.com/events.
